Derek’s favorite bonding activity is birdwatching; he’s a savant! He’s a true bird-identifying expert. By that, we mean he can point out when a bird is outside the window. Squirrels? Forget it. Bugs? Nah. But, birds? You’ll know. Oh, you’ll know. Derek will make sure you know. If there’s a bird out there, outside the window, right in front of him, you’ll know it. His watch for birds is an ever-present pursuit.

When he’s not alerting you to the denizens of your lawn, Derek is a sweet, affectionate young man who loves nothing more than a comforting hand and a warm lap. He loves being scritched under the chin and gentle, full-body strokes down his spine.
